Information for incoming Erasmus students

Welcome to Poznań, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Adam Mickiewicz University.

After arriving to Poznań you should arrange personally the following things as soon as possible:

  1. "Legitymacja studencka" – Student’s Card: room A1-2; you need a photo.
  2. "Karta biblioteczna"- Library Card: library; you need your Student’s Card and 12 zlotys.
  3. Computer account: room A1-26.

Many information you will get as e-mails from administration of the Faculty; you should check your e-mail regularly (account you have opened – see above). Between level A2 and B2 there are plenty of computers with internet access you can freely use. Library Card allows you not only to borrow books from our Faculty Library but also to use the Main Library in the center of the city. Student’s Card gives you a reduction in price for trams and buses as well as for trains in Poland.

During one of the first classes of each course you should contact the lecturer or tutor and inform them that you are an Erasmus student.

Before the examination period you need "karta egzaminacyjna" – the Examination Card (your grades will be written down there by the examinators); you should ask your collegues where and when to get it. After you pass all your exams you should return the filled card to A1-2 before the announced deadline. The time of each examination is fixed by the administration and announced well in advance. If you fail an exam you have right to repeat it once (again the time of repetition – "poprawka', is fixed).

Before the next semester you should register for lectures you have chosen (for the first semester of your stay in Poznań you have been already registered) – the time of registration will be announced by e-mail.

Before you leave you should ask for Transcript of Records in A1-2; you need a statement from the library that you have given back all the books and your Library Card.
